Nightmare on Barrington's Elm Street

From flying kites to Freddy Krueger, we cover the warm, the fuzzy and the totally terrifying here at 365Barrington.com. Tonight’s the night we’ve been waiting for, when Barrington’s Jewel Park neighborhood hits the big screen. Hollywood movie crews descended on Barrington last year to film portions of the new Nightmare on Elm Street in our town. They paid some homeowners to film on their properties and even hired Barrington High School students as extras. The slasher film remake opens tonight in theaters around the world and it makes #31 on our list of 365 Things to do in and Around Barrington. Here’s a peek at the movie trailer.

I’m making an exception and posting today and tomorrow’s “things to do” in one day because I want to give you a heads up about both the movie opening and the Barrington Community Kite Fly tomorrow. I hear the movie is not for the faint of heart, so be warned and welcome to your new nightmare!
