There’s a brand new shop that just opened in Barrington this weekend that stocks its shelves with sugar and sweets.  Take one step inside and, trust me, you’ll feel just like a kid in a candy shop.

Five year old Aiden Krumpett from Lake Barrington walked into the brand new Sweet Spot candy shop today and his eyes lit up like bottle rockets. A real life Charlie Bucket, he darted from shelf to shelf on the hunt for Wonka Bars.

Candy Buckets at The Sweet Spot in BarringtonIf you’re having a bad day, this place will change your mood in a Moon Pie minute. Just come on in, pick up one of their shiny red goody buckets and off you go to candyland. Swinkles, Fireballs, Zots, Jolly Ranchers, Pixy Stix, Runts, Candy Pipes, Candy Lips, Candy Mustaches, Candy Necklaces, Barber Pole Suckers and all things gummy are just a few of hundreds of candy choices on their menu. They have old fashioned Black Jack, Clove and Beemans gum and good old Fruit Stripe, too. Plus, they serve coffee, drinks, ice cream and even have cupcake lollypops!  Whether you’re stuffing a stocking, an Easter basket or goody bag, this place is your one-stop-shop for all things sugary.

Their sweet location is easy to spot, right at Lake Cook Road and Hager.  Their swirling candy stick sign out front might as well read “Calling all Kids”.  And no need to worry about scary singing Oompa Loompas.  You’ll only find friendly folks inside to help with your shopping.  Whether it’s retro sweets or the latest candy craze, if you want it, store manager Doreen Thomas says they’ll do their best to track it down, tout suite.

The Sweet Spot candy shop at 102 S. Hager in Barrington is open from Monday through Saturday from 11AM to 7PM and from 12PM to 5PM on Sundays. You can reach them by phone at 847-381-2320.

  1. I would like to bring some seniors to your candy store as an outing.

I see you have steps at the front door. Does this mean no scooters?
