There’s a Karaoke showdown underway in Chicago’s Northwest Suburbs and tonight is the night for Barrington to take the lead. If you or anyone you know can carry a note and put on a show, come on over to McGonigal’s Pub on Cook Street tonight. You’ll have a chance to take the stage and compete in the 105.5 FM 2010 Karaoke Idol contest.
There are nine bars throughout the suburbs participating in the Karaoke Idol contest and it’s sponsored by Star 105.5 FM. The contest started on April 15th at the Thirsty Whale in Algonquin and ends with the Karaoke Finals at Gus’s Roadhouse in Woodstock on May 21st.
If you’re hardcore about your Karaoke, you can pre-register for tonight’s performance and find the contest details by clicking HERE. Or, you can just show up at McGonigal’s tonight at 6:30 sharp to register. They’re only letting the first 25 registrants participate and registration closes at 7, so don’t be late! The singing begins at 7 on McGonigal’s second level stage and the judges will select three winners from tonight’s performances to advance to the finals round at Gus’s Roadhouse. If you’re crowned the 2010 Karaoke Idol champion, you’ll win a trip for two to Hollywood from SW Travel plus $500 spending cash and bragging rights for the foreseeable future.
If you don’t have the nerve to take the stage, come on out anyway for the show. Let’s see if Barrington has the pipes and the performers to pull this off. And even if our singers aren’t star-quality, then at least we can brag about the Barrington fan base and our favorite new pub right in the heart of town.
