There will be so much more than just visual arts on display at this weekend’s Barrington Art Festival. One of the Village of Barrington’s festival planners says it’s an art festival and a music festival rolled up into one weekend right in downtown Barrington. The festival’s “Acoustic Café Stage” will be featuring musicians all weekend in the Barrington Bank and Trust parking lot at 201 S. Hough Street.  Many of the musicians who will be performing are from around the country and are making a special trip to Barrington just for this weekend’s festivities.  One of the festivals musical highlights will be the 2009 Inspirational Country Music Vocal Duo of the year, The Roys.

This brother/sister duo from Fitchburg, Massachusetts has toured from New England to Texas to Eastern Canada.  Their influences are some of the biggest names in country music, like Dolly Parton, Martina McBride, Keith Urban and Ricky Skaggs.  The Roys will be here in Barrington to perform on the main stage at noon on Sunday.  Here’s a link to their “Workin’ Girl Blues” music video for a preview and a little background music before you read on.
