Back in 2000, a group of neighbors from the Barrington Village got together and decided to start the tradition of Thursday farmers markets in downtown Barrington during the summer. Volunteers with the Barrington Village Association have been hosting the farmers market ever since to “…build community, adding to the character of our historical district and increasing foot traffic to the downtown Barrington area.”

It will offer a wide varitey of vendors selling everything from fresh fruits, vegetables, flowers, meats, cheeses, honey, breads, dog treats and pasta. You can also enjoy freshly prepared foods and find a few gift ideas as well.

The market is located in the village parking lot at the corner of Main (Lake Cook Road) and South Cook Street.  For more information about the Barrington Farmers Market and to see the list of participating vendors, visit their website at BarringtonFarmersMarket.org. We’ll also be writing about some of our favorite vendors in the coming weeks here at 365Barrington.com so please visit us again. In the meantime, I leave you with a video I created back when there was still snow on the ground here in Barrington. All of the signs of summer are finally here!
