There’s SO MUCH TO DO at the Arboretum of South Barrington this weekend with a “Summer Stroll” later today, Antiques Market and FREE mini-concert at Munao Plaza tomorrow at 12:30PM. The stars of Chicago’s hit musical, Million Dollar Quartet, will perform two sets LIVE tomorrow afternoon on a stage set up across from the fountain.

Million Dollar Quartet at the South Barrington Arboretum

Million Dollar Quartet tells the story of a night back in December of 1956 when Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis performed together for the first and only time.

South Barrington Arboretum Million Dollar Quartet ConcertI’ve seen this show and the music really gets your toes tapping. I especially love the scenes when Jerry Lee Lewis gets all crazy at the piano. After the show, there will be ticket giveways, photo opportunities and a chance to “meet & greet” the stars. How cool is that?

But the Million Dollar Quartet concert is just one of this weekend’s highlights. Before, during and after tomorrow’s concert, you can browse the Arboretum’s Antique Market which will be going on tomorrow from 10 until 4PM.

Antique Shopping at the South Barrington Arboretum

It’s one of three Antiques Markets the Arboretum hosts each year. There’s one in May, July and there will be another one happening on September 19th. About 40 antiques vendors will be spread out in Munao Plaza and around the fountain and they’ve carefully chosen antiques dealers with high quality items that you won’t find anywhere else. Plus, admission is FREE! But if you can’t make it tomorrow, there’s a great event happening at the Arboretum TODAY from 3 to 6PM. It’s called the “Summer Stroll” and it’s a beautiful day to take a walk while sipping wine and sampling hors d’oeuvres.

The “Summer Stroll” begins under the tent at Munao Fountain Plaza. Guests are invited to stroll through The Arboretum and enjoy a wine and summer cocktail tasting with appetizer selections. You’ll sample wines from around the world and meander, enjoying the sounds of live music from acoustic duos to jazz quartets. The price for this event is $25 per person and proceeds will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.

For more information about any of these events, call the Arboretum at 847-426-6200 or visit their website at ShopTheArboretumSB.com.  You’ll find the Arboretum at 100 W. Higgins Road in South Barrington.
