One of the stars of the LIVE arena spectacular, “Walking with Dinosaurs,” is making a stop in South Barrington tomorrow. Baby T-Rex will be meeting kids and other dino-fans at the Arboretum’s MEGA Gymnastics. The FREE event starts at 11AM and it’s going to be really cool!

Tyrannosaurs Rex from Walking with Dinosaurs

Adapted from the BBC-TV series by the same name, “Walking with Dinosaurs” features 15 life-sized dinosaurs and will be showing at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont from July 28th through August 1st. The 10 largest dinosaurs in the show are operated by radio remote control while the smaller five are suits worn by actors. Audiences are led through the show by a paleontologist guide.

Dinosaur Eye from Walking with DinosaursField Museum dinosaur experts will be on hand for tomorrow’s event at MEGA Gymnastics. They’ll be entertaining kids with dino digs, dino facts, crafts and fossil prizes. But the highlight will happen right at noon when Baby T-Rex arrives. This is a great way to offer your kids a learning experience that’s sure to make a lasting impression.

Whatever you do, DO NOT forget to bring your cameras! Judging by this somewhat hilarious video from a Baby T-Rex visit in another location, it should be pretty amusing.  It seems a little freaky until you notice the man legs sticking out of the bottom of the costume.  What a great workout!  Who knew T-Rexes had buns of steel?  ;).

Here’s another look at Baby T-Rex throwing out the first pitch at a Sox game last summer.

And this video is a preview of the actual show, “Walking with Dinosaurs”.
