Barrington Youth Football Opening Day Extravaganza

Kids are getting ready for more than just the first day of school this weekend. The Barrington Youth Football league’s “Flag Division” is celebrating the start of football season tomorrow morning with a kickoff party at Barrington High School and we’re all invited to come out for the festivities.

There are about 450 kids in the Barrington Youth Football “Flag Division”. Those are the players age 5 through 13. Tomorrow’s kickoff party starts at 10AM and runs until 2PM at the fields outside the high school. There will be a pass, punt and kick competition, games, team photos taken and there will be lunch, drinks, cookies and popcorn available for all.

A bunch of dads got together to organize this first ever Flag Division kickoff celebration so you’ll find lots of football fans on hand tomorrow! Also new this season is the league’s new “Sports Leader Program”. Each week this season, coaches are going to focus on a new concept with their players like “Respect”, “Commitment” and “Integrity”. One team mom tells me tomorrow’s kickoff party is a great way to get these little athletes (and their parents) back into the spirit of all the sports that come with the new school year.

Barrington High School is at 616 W. Main Street in Barrington, Illinois. For more information about Barrington Youth Football, visit their website at BarringtonBroncos.net.
