144. Grow Little Readers at Learning Trek

My oldest child is about to turn two and there are a lot of things I’m still learning about being a mom. In the coming year, we have to tackle things like potty training, transitioning to a “big girl” bed and getting those shoes on the right feet.  The owner of “Learning Trek Academy” in Barrington says it’s not too early for kids her age to start learning their letters, too.

Get Kids Reading Early at Learning Trek

The owner of Learning Trek, Denise Tenyer, is a former elementary school teacher who used to teach the “Two’s Program” at Salem Methodist Preschool in Barrington. She has a lot of experience teaching little ones the building blocks of reading, from the alphabet, letters and sounds, to words, blending and rhyming and, ultimately, comprehension.

Early Learning at Learning Trek

The Learning Trek class sessions are eight weeks long and are designed for kids starting at age 2-and-a-half. They meet in small groups of between two and six students for ninety minutes once a week. The cost for each 8-week session is $185, the first classes start on September 13th and the classroom is at The Community Church of Barrington at 407 South Grove Avenue. You’ll find more information, class lists and schedules at LearningTrekAcademy.com.
