Citizens for Conservation Fundraiser at Norge Ski Club

Now here’s a cozy way to kick off the holiday shopping season! Citizens for Conservation is hosting party tomorrow, November 14th, where you can shop for gifts, play Texas Hold’em, sip fine wines, sample great foods and socialize with friends alongside a roaring fire at Norge Ski Club. The dress code is casual, but ski sweaters are encouraged and we’re all invited.

Citizens for Conservation Fundraiser at Norge Ski Club

The event is a fundraiser for Barrington-based Citizens for Conservation and all money raised will help pay for programs that help protect Barrington’s natural beauty, native plants and wildlife. CFC’s mission is “Saving Living Space for Living Things” through protection, restoration and stewardship of land, conservation of natural resources, and education.” Now that sounds like a great reason to curl up by the fire.

Tickets are $25 at the door and there will be vendors on hand selling products from Wild Bird Center, Tastefully Simple, Lia Sophia, My 31 Gifts and Orchard Meats and Wine Shoppe in Cary. If shopping is not your thing, there will be tables set up for casual Texas Hold’em tournaments and it’s all taking place at Norge Ski Club in Fox River Grove.

Norge Ski Club was founded in 1905 by a group of Norwegian men, it’s the oldest continuously open ski club in the United States and it’s right in Fox River Grove!  They have a big Winter Ski Jump Tournament coming up in January which we’ll be writing about here at 365Barrington.com.

If you’d like to learn more about Citizens for Conservation, visit their website at CitizensforConservation.org or come out and meet the members at tomorrow’s ski lodge party.  It starts at 4PM and lasts until 7PM.  You’ll find the Norge Ski Club Lodge at 100 Ski Hill Road in Fox River Grove.  I hear the beautiful stone fireplace, full bar and antique skis on display create a relaxing and cozy vibe that you have to see to believe is located right here along our neck of the Fox River.
