One Book One Barrington Book Discussion

If you currently belong to or have always wanted to join a book club, there’s a cool event happening at the Barrington Area Library this Friday night that will help you connect with others who love to read and share ideas about books. The library is hosting a brand new program called “One Book One Barrington” this month, where everybody reads the same book and gets together to discuss the book’s themes. The book this month is called “Listening is an Act of Love”.

One Book One Barrington Book Discussion

“Listening is an Act of Love” is a collection of personal interviews from the StoryCorps project.

StoryCorps is a nonprofit organization that provides Americans of all backgrounds and beliefs with the opportunity to record, share, and preserve the stories of our lives. The Barrington Area Library also provides an opportunity for people to record their own stories and personal interviews in the library’s new media lab.  You’ll find excerpts from the library’s local recorded history program by looking down toward the bottom of the page when you click HERE.

All are welcome to attend the “One Book One Barrington” book discussion followed by a reception catered by chef Dave Esau this Friday, February 25th.  The events starts at 7PM and lasts until 9PM in the library’s Meeting Room.  Registration is required and you can sign up by clicking HERE or by calling the library at 847-382-1300.  You’ll find the library at 505 N. Northwest Highway in Barrington and you can learn more about the library’s programs online at BarringtonAreaLibrary.org.
