Barrington Crime Scene Investigators Class

You’ve seen it on TV. The crime happens, the evidence is collected and the crime is solved, all within an hour! Let’s face it. The TV version of CSI doesn’t quite paint an accurate picture of a true crime scene investigator. But you can see, first-hand, how the pros solve crimes by signing up for a brand new class being offered by the Barrington Park District.

Barrington Crime Scene Investigators Class

“CSI Barrington” classes are offered for adults and teens and start next week on Monday, February 28th.

Under the guidance of real crime scene investigators and forensic scientists, students will identify, collect and analyze key evidence found at a mock crime scene. Participants will use actual CSI techniques and equipment to solve mock crime scene scenarios. All instructors have degrees in and practice law enforcement and/or forensic science and all forensic and safety equipment will be provided.

Instructors include Mark Harvey of the Chicago Police Department Forensic Services Mobile Crime Lab, Wilburn Wilkins of the Illinois State Police Joliet Forensic Science Laboratory and a representative from the Lake County Coroner’s Office. The classes will be offered on Mondays or Saturdays, starting next Monday, Febraury 28th. There are two separate classes being offered for adults and two classes for teens from 12-17 years old.  The fee is $85/$100 and you can sign up by calling the Barrington Park District at 847-381-0687 or register online by clicking HERE.  You’ll find the Barrington Park District at 235 Lions Drive in Barrington and you can learn more about Park District programs online at BarringtonParkDistrict.org.
