122. Make a Date with the Easter Bunny in Barrington

As Easter quickly approaches, the big bunny has scheduled dozens of appearances in Barrington with eggs and treats in his basket for all to enjoy. Peter Cottontail will kick off the holiday festivities with egg hunting and a bunny breakfast in Barrington this weekend and he’ll continue his appearances around town in the days leading up to Easter

To help you book some bunny time before Easter, 365Barrington.com has compiled a complete list of the the Easter Bunny’s appearances in town, in chronological order.  He is going to be ONE BUSY BUNNY!  Here’s a peek at his packed schedule:

Breakfast with the Bunny and Egg Hunt at Langendorf Park

When: Saturday, March 31st – Catered breakfast is served from 9am – 10:15am & Egg Hunt begins afterwards at 10:30am

Where: Fitness & Recreation Center at Langendorf Park – 235 Lions Drive, Barrington

What: The Egg Hunt is open to all ages and will immediately follow breakfast at 10:30am. It is automatically FREE after you register for the breakfast; otherwise it is an individual fee to register separately. Each egg has a treat inside, and specially marked eggs mean you’ve won an Easter basket prize! The Park District respectfully asks parents to limit children to 15 eggs so everyone can get their share.

How: You can pre-register for the event for $3/child by calling the Park District at 847-381-0687, or you can register for $5/child at the door.

Doggie Easter Egg Hunt at The Arboretum

When: Saturday, March 31st – Fido can begin searching for the treat-filled eggs at 11am & join Kriser’s for the rest of the fest until 3pm.

Where: The Arboretum of South Barrington – 100 West Higgins Road, South Barrington

What: Kriser’s will have treat-filled eggs for your dogs to search for in the field behind Cooper’s Hawk at 11am, followed by pet adoptions with Midwest Rescue of Illinois, raffle prizes and free nail trims until 3pm. You can also dress your pooch up in a cute get-up for the costume contest after the egg hunt! No registration is necessary and the entire event is FREE.

Easter Bunny Home Visits – Kidz Parties Plus More

When: Monday, April 2nd – Friday, April 6th

Where: Your home

What: The Easter Bunny will visit your home with a basket of goodies for your kids, so make sure to have your camera on hand! Visits are scheduled to be between 3pm and 7pm the week of April 2, and between 9am and 4pm on Saturday, April 7. Cost is $25/child and $15for each additional child. The Easter Bunny will come to visit homes in Buffalo Grove, Barrington, Algonquin, Lake Zurich, Cary and Fox River Grove.

Easter Bunny Home Visits – Barrington Park District

When: Wednesday, April 4th

Where: Your home

What: The Easter Bunny will brighten your child’s day with a personal visit to your home with a goodie-filled basket. Make sure to take out your camera, video camera or both to capture the fun-filled moments before the Bunny leaves to visit the next children. Visits generally last about 10 to 15 minutes.

How: You can schedule your visit for $20/child and $15 for each additional child by calling the Park District at 847-381-0687. If you are out of the district, visits cost $25/child and $15 for each additional child.

Flashlight Egg Hunt at the South Barrington Park District

When:  Thursday, April 5th, 7:45 to 8:15 p.m.

Where:  South Barrington Community Center – 3 Tennis Club Lane

What:  Come to the park to search for eggs and treats in the dark. Don’t forget to bring your flashlight for your search and a basket to hold your goodies! The egg hunt will begin at 7:45pm sharp and it doesn’t take long to scoop up the prizes, so it is recommended that children arrive in a timely manner. Pre-registration is required by April 1.

Easter Egg Dyeing with Grandparents at the South Barrington Park District

When:  Thursday, April 5 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Where:  South Barrington Community Center – 3 Tennis Club Lane

What:  It’s time to enjoy Easter, the grandchildren, and the fun of dyeing eggs. This festive grandparent-grandchild hour will focus on family fun and time together. Included will be dyeing Easter eggs, enjoying chocolate treats, and decorating bags to safely transport your eggs home. All supplies included.

How:  Cost is $10 (Resident) or $12 (Non-Resident) for one grandparent and one grandchild.  Each additional child is $4.  To sign up, call (847) 381-7515  Ext. 28.  Registration Deadline is March 29.

Visit with the Easter Bunny in his Spring Garden

When: Thursday, April 5th through Saturday, April 7th from noon to 3pm

Where: The Ice House Mall – 200 Applebee Street, Barrington

What: Bring your camera to take photos with the Easter Bunny in his Spring Garden, and expect free giveaways for your children.

Easter Egg Hunt and Bunny Visit at the Deer Park Town Center

When: Saturday, April 7th – Visits with the Bunny will start at 11am & Egg Hunt will kickoff at 1pm

Where: Brilliant Sky Toys & Books – 21540 West Field Parkway, Deer Park

What: Visit with the Easter Bunny at the Deer Park Town Center’s Sky Toys &Books at 11am, and then stick around for the egg hunt that begins at 1pm. During the events, the Lake County Sherriff’s Department will be conducting child seat safety checks from 11am-3pm. Brilliant Sky Toys & Books will give participants a discount scratch-off for each safety check, so be sure to stop by!

Breakfast with the Easter Bunny at the Ice House Mall

When: Saturday, April 7th – 9 to 11am

Where: Chessies 111 Grille in the Ice House Mall – 200 Applebee Street, Barrington

What: Enjoy a delectable spring buffet breakfast, face painting, balloon magic and giveaways for all children. Make sure to bring your camera to capture the moments!

Bunny Hop While You Shop

When: Saturday, April 7th from 10am to 2pm

Where: The Foundry of Barrington – 724 West Northwest Highway, Barrington

What: The businesses and stores at The Foundry invite you to their 18th Annual Family Easter Event for FREE photos with the Easter Bunny, who will be located near Baird & Warner. Over 300 families attend this popular event each year, which features a FREE petting zoo with baby ducks, chicks, rabbits, goats and over 35 animals. In fact, two years ago, The Foundry was privileged to have a goat born during the event! On top of that, your kids can have their faces painted with whiskers while visiting over 15 participating retailers for special treats and prizes. Don’t forget your camera to capture all the fun!

Bunny Brunch & Community Egg Hunt at the South Barrington Park District

When:  Saturday, April 7th, Brunch from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m., Community Egg Hunt from 10:30 to 11 a.m. & Aquatic Egg Hunt from 12:30 to 1:30

Where:  South Barrington Community Center – 3 Tennis Club Lane

What:  What could be more fun than waking up in the morning and going to a celebration with the Easter Bunny? How about doing it in your pajamas? Kids and adults alike are invited to roll out of bed and head to the Community Center to enjoy a pancake bar, seasonal crafts and time with the bunny followed by a Community Easter Egg Hunt and a wet and wild Aquatic Egg Hunt in the pool.

How:  Pancakes & Pajamas Brunch costs $7 for kids and $5 for adults.  Community Egg Hunt is FREE and Aquatic Egg Hunt is $6 (Residents) or $10 (Non-Residents) To sign up, call (847) 381-7515.  All families must pre-register to attend the brunch by April 1.
