Barrington Area Conservation Trust

Proceeds from the fifth annual Barrington’s Concours will support programs offered by the Barrington Area Conservation Trust.  The trust was founded in 2001 to protect the open spaces that are unique to Barrington’s beautiful landscape.  The group’s mission is “To help preserve the open space, rural character, and scenic, recreational, historic, and natural resources of the Barrington, Illinois-area communities through advocacy, education, and promotion of responsible land stewardship.”  The BAC Trust works with private landowners to educate them about how conservation easements can help protect their properties in perpetuity and also possibly provide significant tax breaks.  To learn more about their mission, visit BACTrust.org.
