202. Guess Where Wednesday & Last Week’s Winner

Who says we can’t play Guess Where Wednesday on Thursday? A special birthday party made me a day late with our contest this week. But we have a cool new mystery photo which might be a little tricky.  I was standing outdoors in a very public location in the heart of Barrington when I took this picture.  But I zoomed in pretty tight to try and keep you guessing and you can enter yours to win anytime through next Tuesday, July 24th.   The top left edge of this photograph might give you a little hint and you’ll find another clue if you read on.

If you know where we took the photo, just enter your guess in the comments box below. The rules are simple and the prize is pretty cool!

But first, it’s time to reveal last week’s mystery photo and announce our winner and his name is…

Congratulations, Theo, for correctly guessing that the United Way painted horse in the picture is the one standing outside Barrington’s Village Hall.  I will contact you this week about getting you your prize, which is a pair of daily pool passes, courtesy of the Barrington Park DistrictClick HERE to see last week’s guesses and mystery photo.  Here’s a more revealing look at where we spotted that horse.

This horse, painted by Barrington artist, Janet Mamon, is called Sunset and it’s one of many painted horses you’ve seen popping up around Barrington in recent days. They’re all part of the Barrington Area United Way’s Roundup II campaign. The horses will be on display throughout town until they’re auctioned off to support vital community programs during the United Way’s Roundup II Gala Horse Auction this October 13th.  We’re going to be featuring more of Barrington’s painted horses in upcoming Guess Where Wednesday photo contests so be on the lookout!  For a little help, you’ll find a map with details about all of the horses, their sponsors and locations at BAUW.org.

You can also download and print the map just by CLICKING HERE.  But here’s a peek…

Now to this week’s contest…

This Week’s Prize:

If you can correctly guess where we took this week’s mystery photo, you will be entered into a drawing to win a prize linked to the place in the picture.

This Week’s Clue:  Mural, Mural on the wall.

Here’s how it works:

* Submit guesses about where today’s mystery photo was taken in the comments area below for this post
* You have until the end of the day this upcoming Tuesday to submit your guess
* Next week on Wednesday, we’ll draw a name and reveal the winner at 365Barrington.com
* We will contact the winner with instructions about receiving the prize of the week
* Only one guess per person
* Only guesses posted here on this website (not on Facebook or Twitter) will be entered into the drawing
* Your email address must be valid, so we can contact you if you win

There you go! All you have to do is SUBMIT YOUR GUESS IN THE “COMMENTS” BOX BELOW. If you’ve guessed in our previous contests, please feel free to participate again this week! We’d love to see as many guesses as possible. We’re also working on finding more great prizes to give away for future “Guess Where Wednesday” mystery photo contests. If you would like to offer one of our upcoming prizes, please drop me a note at Liz@365Barrington.com.

Good luck with your guessing and here’s one more look at this week’s Mystery Photo.
