Barrington 220’s youngest learners now have a 35-foot-long nature mural to greet them at school each day, thanks to the hard work by local painter Susan Hanson.

Hanson’s one-of-a-kind painting depicts the school’s natural surroundings of trees, flowers and other foliage as they progress through all four seasons.

The mural will be officially dedicated to the school on Friday, Dec. 6 at 1:30 p.m.

The project was made possible by the Early Learning Center’s PTO, Barrington 220 Educational Foundation, Citizens for Conservation and individual donors.

The Early Learning Center opened in October of 2010 and is an early childhood education center serving preschool-aged children with special abilities.
