Good Shepherd Hospital Santa Visit to Benefit A to Z Literacy Movement

Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington is hosting a festive evening with Santa and Mrs. Claus on Monday, Decemer 9th. Barrington firefighters will escort the season’s busiest couple to the hospital to greet visitors at the start of the event. If you bring a new or gently used book to donate, those books will go to A to Z Literacy, a not-for-profit organization that improves the lives of impoverished children through literacy development, with their efforts focused in Chicagoland and Zambia, Africa.

The visit with Mr. and Mrs. Claus will last from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, December 7th, in the hospital’s Lakeview/Prairie Rooms, 450 W. Highway 22 in Barrington.

The evening will begin with Santa’s arrival on a Barrington Fire Department fire truck and include pictures with Santa and Mrs. Claus and a reading of Twas the Night Before Christmas by a local fire fighter.

Kids will also have the chance to make a holiday craft and enjoy holiday munchies.

Please bring a new or gently used book to donate to A to Z Literacy which provides children’s books to local schools.  For more information about the organization, visit atozliteracy.org.
