When we find an hour or two in our busy schedules to go out to dinner with our significant other or drinks with friends we really can’t afford to waste a lot of time getting ready. That’s why we have come up with quick and easy ways to help you transform either your casual or corporate “day look” into a great, on-trend outfit that you can wear out at night.
Casual Day to Night – Look 1
A relaxed fitting jean and basic long sleeve t-shirt paired with a fall scarf and flats is the perfect casual look for a day of running errands or being with the kids. It’s cute and functional for whatever the day has to offer! Easily, swap the flats for a bootie, trade the scarf for a statement necklace and throw on a great faux leather jacket. Now your casual look from today is ready to take you out tonight!
Casual Day to Night – Look 2
During the day we love this sweater paired with jeans and a cute printed flat. Easily dress this outfit up by changing out the jeans for a great legging like the faux leather legging. Throw on your favorite pair of heels and a long layered necklace. With these simple changes you have transformed your outfit into a new and polished look!
Corporate Day to Night – Look 1
This little black dress with tights, a cashmere cardigan and a printed scarf is the perfect, on-trend look for the office, but it may not be ideal for drinks with friends right after work. Instead of changing into an entirely new outfit all you need to do is take off the sweater and tights, replace the scarf with a great statement necklace and add a cute bracelet, like this gold link one, for a little arm candy. Now you’re ready for that well-deserved cocktail!

We love the idea of a printed blouse because it is so versatile and perfect for work and play. This Lilla P top is great for the office when paired with a black ponte pant, heel and even a blazer if necessary. To make this outfit more appealing after work hours we would throw on a pair of great fitting skinny denim in a dark wash, we love this dark grey coated jean for fall. Go ahead and trade out the heel for a cute ankle bootie for a slightly edgier look. We love a neutral color statement necklace with this top because it adds just enough without being too much. With this fresh new look you’ll be ready to take on whatever the night has to offer!

A go-to in my closet is the little black dress. What are some different ways to wear it this season for day or night? – Rachel Sepe
We love a little black dress as a staple because it is so easy and versatile! During the day we love it with a great open cardigan or cute blazer and a scarf. If your dress is more on the fitted side, a great way to make it look completely different is to throw on a pullover sweater. This gives the illusion that your dress is now a skirt! You can add tights or leggings for warmth or to make it more work appropriate. At night we love a little black dress with a great cropped jacket, like a moto jacket. Accessories are a super easy way to change up the look of your dress. We love a little black dress with a heel, flat, bootie or tall boot and all of these give a completely different look. Adding a new statement necklace or stacking a few necklaces together can also give your same dress a fresh look!
How do you know whether it’s ok to mix and match patterns? – Angie Uhrik
Many people struggle with mixing prints so hopefully this answer will help others too! Make sure the color of the prints work together. Choose one print to be the main focus. Try matching stripes with florals. If you are uneasy about mixing prints try easing into it by breaking up the prints with a jacket or a belt. We decided to keep this answer short and sweet because the question inspired our post next week where we will expand upon this question and give more details about how to mix prints.
