If you’re in need of a beauty fix, there’s a gorgeous new medspa in town: Rejuva, located in the Arboretum of South Barrington, celebrated their grand opening on Thursday, September 17th. The medspa – which offers everything from threading and makeup application to injectables and laser treatments, all under doctors’ supervision – is a soothing environment designed especially to help you feel your best. Judging by the crowd, Rejuva will soon be a very busy place!

Rejuva’s staff eagerly welcomed a steady stream of visitors to their newly-renovated space, and encouraged guests to explore their wide range of services.

Sales representatives were on hand to demonstrate products and to offer incredible deals for new clients. Incontro A Tavola provided delectable appetizers, and Small Cakes delivered scrumptious little treats.

Rejuva is co-owned and staffed by Dr. Ahtesham Hyder, a board-certified internal medicine physician. Dr. Hyder first learned of the medspa concept from a colleague, and was immediately intrigued. He often worked with patients on weight loss goals and listened to their aesthetic concerns, and loved the idea of addressing patients’ needs in a medspa environment that offered complementary services.

“This business is growing. We’re trying to offer as much as we can, from aesthetic services through weight loss programs. Our aestheticians are all highly-trained in their area of expertise, and I supervise all medical treatments.”

Clients new to Rejuva receive initial consultations, and recommendations are made based on the client’s personal goals. “Young clients believe that only traditional spa services, such as facials and chemical peels, can improve their problematic skin,” Dr. Hyder says. “However, medical aesthetic services, such as laser and aesthetic injectables, could be more effective in treating their skin conditions and even delay the process of aging skin.” Eventually, Dr. Hyder would like to offer concierge medical services as well, to accept walk-in patients for physicals, vaccinations, and more. “We’re always trying to come up with new ideas for ways to better serve our clients.”

As Dr. Hyder moved forward with plans to open the medspa, his siblings took an interest in the concept as well. Dr. Zeshan Hyder, a spine surgeon, and Dr. Sakina Hyder, an emergency physician, both saw tremendous potential in the business’ ability to provide a global approach to aesthetic care. They decided to partner with their brother as he worked to bring his dream to fruition.

Rejuva’s vision is to have a full wellness and medical spa offering spa services and medical-grade treatments along with weight loss and wellness – complete aesthetic services in a high-quality environment.

A medical spa is owned and directed by a medical doctor, so clients can access medical-grade products and treatments unavailable in other spa environments. “A traditional spa will often give a facial for the smell or the feel of it,” Rejuva’s team says. “We actually treat the skin: for hyperpigmentation, we can treat on a spa level, or take it all the way to micro-needling, which is a medical treatment, and then even further to the laser, which is the best way to do it. We have a solution for every budget and comfort level.”

Rejuva’s Nurse Practitioner/Injector, Alexsandra Bielawiec, has more than 7 years’ experience as an Aesthetic Injector. She specializes in injectable products, such as Restylane, Dysport, and Radiesse. “As a nurse practitioner I am trained to handle injections, lasers – all the aesthetic treatments. I love to work with dermal fillers and botulism toxins – I love helping people feel their best.”

Neocutis sales representative, Amanda Gadowski, attended the open house to share her product line with customers. “Our products are known for their growth factors, which stimulate collagen and address fine lines and wrinkles. Our eye cream has won an award seven years in a row for best eye cream.” Amanda says it targets puffiness, dark circles, fine lines, and wrinkles. The company’s #2 seller is their bioserum, which she says offers results in as little as 7-14 days.

Jenna Carmody, who represents glo, was also on hand to demonstrate her skincare and makeup lines. “Our skin sets just came out recently, and they’re wonderful products tailored to your skin type, from normal-to-dry to sensitive. Everything we have is loaded with antioxidants. We’re known for our blend of ingredients and range of products.”

Attendees came away from the open house excited to try Rejuva’s services. Barrington resident and business owner, Patty Jacobsen, talked with Heather Reed, a licensed aesthetician/laser technician. Heather is also Rejuva’s specialist for the physician supervised weight loss program, which includes complete support in nutritional eating habits and behavioral education.”The weight loss program sounds very interesting – the speed and ease at which you could actually lose the weight, while still eating with your family in the evenings,” Patty says. “Heather seems very knowledgeable, and made it sound so doable.”

Another of Rejuva’s licensed professionals is Gail Bennett, a licensed medical aesthetician who has worked in the industry – for Dr. Perricone, among others –  for her entire career. “I have a passion for skin care, and for educating people on how supplementation and nutrition impacts their beauty inside and out,” Gail said.

South Barrington resident Margaret Zambrzycki enjoyed a Rejuva gycolic peel and facial with Gail two weeks ago. “I’m telling you, it was amazing. I walked out of here and my face was glowing – my friend couldn’t believe I wasn’t wearing makeup! Gail was so knowledgeable.” Margaret returned to the open house to purchase several of the products that Gail used – and says she’ll likely be back for more.

Ginny Knick, a Hoffman Estates resident, had an hour-long facial with exfoliation with aesthetician Gail Bennett earlier in the week. “It was really a wonderful experience,” Ginny said. “I was very surprised that I had my choice of a hand or a foot massage. It was a hard choice – I didn’t know which one to take. But I definitely took the foot massage. When I came home I was all aglow!”

Ginny plans to return to Rejuva – next time with friends. “As a matter fact I have two friends who are very interested in the appearance of their face because of our delicate age. I intend to get them together for a little wine and facial party here!”

Sharon Cruse and Lalaine Linderman and, both South Barrington residents, came to the open house to learn more about what Rejuva has to offer. “We thought we would just come check it out, but now we’re really impressed by it,” said Lalaine. “They offer a lot more services than we thought – this has been really informative. The cosmecuticals and Botox are really interesting.”

There was even a bit of “man-scaping” going on at the beauty bash: Todd Cavanaugh tried eyebrow threading for the first time! Threading, an ancient method of hair removal, is catching on like wildfire in the United States.

The biggest draw of the open house might have been the amazing deals available to new clients. Nicole Sochacz, an aesthetician and technician trained in the use of lasers, said one of their best specials is their SkinPen treatment. “We’re having a Boot Camp coming up with our SkinPen rep, and the first ten people who sign up are going to get a $300 treatment for $150. They will get their face and neck treated for less than the price of the face alone.”

If you missed the grand opening specials, don’t worry: each month, Rejuva will offer specials targeting different areas of the body. “One month we might do the eye area, or stretch marks, and we’ll offer a promo associated with that area. Our website and Facebook page are very informative, and are great places to start learning more about what we’re currently offering.”

Many open house attendees found themselves staying quite a while to enjoy the medusa’s beautiful environment. Interior designer Valerie Putman of Michelle Pelafas Incorporated had the unique opportunity to redesign Rejuva’s space, after designing it for the prior tenant ten years ago. “We were able to come in and create a new vision for this space – a really sophisticated look that is special and unique,” Valerie said. “We used a lot of different architectural materials, such as resins that have special inlaid materials to add a touch of organic. Other materials have a little bit of glitz and glam to them, to add that sophisticated touch.”

Valerie said it was important to the designers that Rejuva clients feel calm in the space. “One of the big goals as you go back to the spa area is that feeling of relaxation – to get into a zone where you can decompress. We used different textures and soft lighting to ensure a relaxing experience. It was a pleasure to help guide Rejuva through this process.”

Dr. Hyder says they’re thrilled that Rejuva’s now open for business. “Opening Rejuva has been an amazing process. I couldn’t ask for anything more.”
