354. Santa to Return for Day of Festivities, Holiday Trolley & Tree Lighting in Downtown Barrington

Merchants from all over the Village of Barrington welcome all to join them Saturday, December 5th, for “Snow Much Fun“, the community’s annual day-long holiday celebration. Shops all over town will be hosting holiday specials and events as families ride the Holiday Trolley with Santa all day before he lights the community’s Christmas tree at Cook and Main Streets before visiting with children.

The trolley will run in a continuous loop all day from 10:30 a.m. until 5:30 p.m. on December 5th so you can park in one place and ride to all events! St. Nick will be at Barrington Village Center at 10:30 a.m., at the Ice House Mall at 10:45, the Shops on Lageschulte at 11 a.m., the Foundry at 11:15 a.m. and, of course, he’ll ride into downtown Barrington on his firetruck for the tree lighting at 5 p.m.

Here’s a closer look at the events planned around town for December 5th.

Candy Cane Festival – Foundry Shopping Center (10 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

Winter Wonderland – Ice House Mall ( 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
Mister & Mrs. Clause * Reading of The Nutcracker * Midwest Dance Collective Performance

Gingerbread Lane – The Shops on Lageschulte (11 a.m. to 5 p.m.)
Photos with sled dogs * Giant gingerbread people

Snow Much Fun Annual Tree Lighting – Village Center on South Cook Street (1 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.)
Carriage rides * Carolers * Free hot chocolate & cookies * SANTA VISITS from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

Barrington’s White House Open House
They’ve decked the halls at Barrington’s newly renovated White House which will be open to the public for a Holiday Open House on Saturday, December 5th and on Saturday, December 12th.

  • December 5th, 10:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
    BHS Madrigals singers 1:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
    Visits with Santa 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
    “Art for All” – Art sale and silent auction benefitting the cultural arts in Barrington.
    Complimentary desserts and coffee provided by Ambrosia Euro American Patisserie, Anderson’s Candy Shop, Clarke’s Bakery and Deli, Einstein Bagels, and Heinen’s Fine Foods.
  • December 12th, 10:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

    “Art for All” – Art sale and silent auction benefitting the cultural arts in Barrington.
