Once in a Blue Moon

Gift Idea: Owen Glass Jewelry

Antique Czechoslovakian glass crystals originally made for chandeliers and lamps in the 20’s and 30’s, Owen Glass jewelry is truly a treasure. Buried in barrels to prevent the Nazis from finding them, Allen Owen heard about the lost crystals on a trip to Czechoslovakia. After extensive research, he finally located the collection. Upon returning to the U.S., Allen found molds hidden in the bottom of the barrels. These molds represented shapes that were not included with the originals. Allen returned to Czechoslovakia and sought the expertise of old world glass masters to help create new crystals from the antique molds. Allen also uses Austrian crystals, semi-precious stones, and other Art Deco glass crystals. The ear wires are either sterling silver or gold-filled metal. Once in a Blue Moon owner, Bob Moon, offers one of the largest collections of Owen Glass jewelry available to the public in the U.S.
