Barrington Area Crop Hunger Walk | Help end hunger one step at a time at the annual Crop Hunger Walk coming up in Barrington from 12:30 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, October 16th from 12:30 to 3 p.m. Hosted by Saint Anne Catholic Community, the Barrington Area CROP Hunger Walk is an annual community hunger education event which raises funds to fight hunger locally and around the world.  The Walk starts at Saint Anne and involves over a dozen churches, Barrington High School  and the community.  Join, as a walker or sponsor, to help change the world, one step at a time.

Community Blood Drive | The Barrington Area Development Council and Barrington Park District are hosting a community blood drive at the Barrington Park District Fitness & Recreation Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12th.   9. chicago_history |Goebbert’s Farm – South Barrington has been in the farm market business since 1948, George Goebbert started a roadside vegetable stand in Alington Heights. In 1972, Jim Goebbert bought a 40-acre farm in South Barrington and moved his family. Jim’s three children started selling pumpkins on the roadside in 1978. It got so busy one Saturday, Jim had to close the Arlington Heights stand, to come home and help with the pumpkin sales. The Fall Festival was born.
