Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble Presents The Nutcracker, 2016

Tickets are now on sale to one of the Barrington area’s “must-see” holiday theatrical events of the season! The Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble (BYDE) will proudly present The Nutcracker with a cast of local dancers plus professional guests stars at Barrington High School December 2nd, 3rd and 4th.

Prepare for glittering sets and gorgeous costumes as this year’s dancers recreate the story of Clara’s magical gift, an exciting battle between soldiers and mice, and the dreamy Land of Sweets set to Tchaikovsky beloved musical score. True to BYDE’s mission, professional dancers will take the stage with Barrington Dance Academy performers for an unforgettable experience that has become a highly anticipated holiday tradition for families and arts enthusiasts in Barrington.

Ticket prices range from $15 to $30 and scheduled performances in the auditorium at Barrington High School (616 W. Main Street, Barrington) are as follows:

Friday, December 2nd | 7 p.m.
Saturday, December 3rd | 2 p.m.
Saturday, December 3rd | 7 p.m.
Sunday, December 4th | 2 p.m.

And don’t miss the chance to bring your kids (and your cameras) to Clara’s Tea Party, a magical evening with Clara and her friends for guests age 3 to 8. This festive Nutcracker dance & tea party will feature performers from this year’s Nutcracker. Meet and take photos with Clara and her friends, play Nutcracker dance games, create a holiday craft and enjoy tasty tea time treats. It’s happening from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Friday, December 16th at Barrington Dance Academy, 758 W. Northwest Highway in Barrington. The cost to attend is $20. The Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble (BYDE) at 758 W Northwest Highway is a 501©3 non-profit charitable arts organization that promotes artistic integrity, involvement, and awareness through exceptional dance training and performance. Founded in 1989 by Artistic Director Mary Brennan, this grassroots organization melds professional dancers and student dancers and has become a local standard bearer for the arts. In addition to community outreach performances, the Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble presents two major productions each year, including a Nutcracker performance in December and a spring production in June.
