Barrington Junior Women’s Club Casino Royale Event Raises Funds for Scholarships, Grants & 20th Annual Safety Town Celebration

The Barrington Junior Women’s Club (BJWC) brought the glamour of Monaco’s Casino Royale to Biltmore Country Club, raising about $45,000 during their 2017 Spring Fundraiser. A portion of the proceeds will pay for improvements to Safety Town, the club’s beloved kids’ summer camp which is about to celebrate 20 years in Barrington!

Over 235 guests attended Casino Royale on March 4th, which was a swanky evening offering something for everyone including gambling, live music & dancing, silent auction & raffle, dinner, cocktails and more.

Barrington Junior Women’s Club President, Mary Dale says she is thrilled with the event’s success and grateful for the generosity of donors and sponsors. “Tonight was a terrific example of having fun while doing good and the power of bringing people committed to helping others together,” Mary says. “I look forward to seeing the impact of the night as we start working on our annual scholarships, grants and Safety Town programs.”

A portion of the $45,000 raised at Casino Royale will fund BJWC grants and scholarships. Scholarship applications have been completed, but they are still accepting grant applications for local 501(c)(3) organizations, which may be submitted at BJWC.org.

Additional Casino Royale proceeds will be used to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of BJWC’s Safety Town, a summer camp where children learn lessons about safety. Funds will go toward maintaining Safety Town’s structures and updating the security system. They also plan to develop a mobile Safety Town program for use at schools such as Sunny Hill Elementary School in Carpentersville, IL.

Founded in 1936, the Barrington Junior Women’s Club is a 501(c)(3) is a not for profit organization open to women of all ages. The group’s mission is to enhance the community through philanthropy, volunteerism and community service. In addition to funding scholarships and grants, BJWC initiatives also benefit local charities that provide programs for children, teens, seniors and families in and around Barrington.
