A few days ago, when I wrote about the Jazz Patio & Wine Festival in Deer Park, I mentioned that another awesome music event was coming to Barrington. On Sunday, August 18, the St. Anne Catholic Community of Barrington and the Barrington United Methodist Church are pleased to sponsor a performance of gospel and other inspirational music by Harmony Hope & Healing to benefit Family Service of the Barrington Area. The performance begins at 3 PM at BUMC, at Algonquin and Route 59 in Barrington Hills.

First off, let me tell you about Harmony Hope & Healing. HHH is an organization that provides creative, therapeutic and educational music programs in collaboration with shelters and community outreach organizations throughout the Chicago area, including the St. Martin de Porres House of Hope in the Woodlawn neighborhood of Chicago. Working with individuals who endure difficult transitions in their lives, the HHH music programs help participants regain hope and dignity, heal broken spirits and foster positive lifestyle choices. If you like your music passionate, joyful, and uplifting, you cannot miss this concert. I’ve had the privilege of hearing and even doing some singing with Harmony Hope & Healing when they’ve visited St. Anne’s, and they’ve truly blown me away every time. You’ll cry, you’ll clap your hands, you might stand up and move a little bit (yep, even in a church), but you definitely won’t walk away unmoved. Music has a tremendous power to heal and transform and renew, and I definitely feel that when HHH raises their voices in song. Visit their Web site —> http://www.harmonyhopeandhealing.org.

So Harmony Hope & Healing brings joy and the promise of a brighter tomorrow to its members and to its audiences, but with this concert it is also bringing even more positive change to the Barrington area. A freewill offering will be taken at the performance to benefit Family Service.

The third winner is YOU, because you’re going to love the music and the chance to spend a joyful Sunday afternoon with your Barrington neighbors. You might even find your own heart feeling reenergized, healed and harmonious. See you on Sunday, August 18, 3 p.m. at the Barrington United Methodist Church in Barrington Hills.
