A wise man once said, “The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear.” It’s December 7th. Is anyone in the mood for that right about now?
Here at our house, the holiday decorations have exploded. The kids’ Elf on the Shelf expectations are through the roof and my husband is home from work today. Let’s just say he’s not currently channeling Buddy the Elf’s cheer.
So I smile and respond as calmly as possible. Then I put my headphones on and this uplifting non-holiday song starts playing on Pandora. Now I feel inspired.
From today through December 25th, I’m going to try to lighten up by sharing one non-Christmas song with an uplifting message every day. (Recommendations? If so, please share in the comments box below.)
By Christmas Day we’ll have a whole playlist to keep spirits bright and help recharge for the new year. After all, tis the season when we need a little light, even it’s just warm words from a friend, a kind face in line at Target or songs like this one from Dolphin Tale 2. I’ve not seen the movie, but I do like the message in this song and, at least for the moment, I’m preferring these lyrics to Jingle Bells.
So here it is. #19 on our countdown. You Got Me by Gavin DeGraw…
