[vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_text_separator title=”Welcome to This Day in Barrington History” title_align=”separator_align_left”][vc_column_text]Welcome to January 30th and Day 29 of 365 in Barrington, Illinois! You’ll find our stories of the day – past, present & future (events) – right here on today’s DailyPage.
Because every day has its own rhythm, we’re sharing a song of the day here at 365Barrington.com.
On this day, January 30th in 1975, The Bee Gees began recording ‘Jive Talkin’, which became their second US chart topper and No.5 UK hit. Barry Gibb’s inspiration for the song came when his wife commented on the sound their car made while crossing a bridge over Biscayne Bay into Miami. She noted, “It’s our drive talkin’.” The song’s rhythm was modelled after the sound their car made crossing the Julia Tuttle Causeway each day from Biscayne Bay to Criteria Studios in Miami.
I don’t know about you, but’s a rhythm that takes me WAY BACK! I remember this record playing in our family room while my brother and I played “Hot Lava” on the couch, record player spinning nearby. Pretty sure the Neil Diamond and Kenny Rogers records were also within reach. Wow, dad, you were pretty cool back in the 70’s! 😉 We don’t have a picture, but it’s a snapshot that’s lives in my mental photo album.
Do you remember where you were in place and time when you first heard Jive Talkin’?[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_text_separator title=”Song of the Day” title_align=”separator_align_left”][vc_column_text]
