The Barrington Village Association is excited to be adding two new wine category pouring tables to the 11th Annual “Uncork Barrington” wine and food tasting event coming up on Friday, July 10th.

Uncork Barrington volunteers have been hard at work planning all of the details and this year’s event is shaping up to be a truly unforgettable experience in downtown Barrington.  So grab your date and call your friends!  The hottest tickets in town are available NOW online or for purchase at both Vin and Heinen’s Grocery.

One of this year’s new Uncork Barrington wine tasting categories is called “Someone Call me a Cab!” and will showcase some of Vin Chicago’s favorite Cabernet Sauvignon selections.  The second new “Best of Barrington” table will include tastes of some of the top selling wines at Vin in Barrington.

In all, this year’s 11th annual Uncork Barrington will feature over sixty wines to taste and purchase in almost a dozen different categories plus a selection of top-shelf wines which will be available in Uncork’s VIP tent.  The full list of general admission tasting categories for this year’s Uncork Barrington includes:

Napa Valley Knockouts * Fantastic Food Pairings * Big, Juicy Reds * “White with Everything” * Smooth Blends * Best of the US * Great for Grilling * Wine for Entertaining * Old World Wonders * Summer Sippers * “Someone call me a Cab!” and Best of Barrington

***Vin Chicago will also be taking wine orders during Uncork, with a 5% case discount and 10% to benefit the charities that Uncork supports***

General admission ticket holders will receive a souvenir wine glass and a “passport” to guide them as they taste their way through all of the generous wine samplings available in each category plus  food provided by this year’s participating culinary experts.  Everyone is serviced in a first-class fashion in a pavilion well-appointed with plants, decorative lighting, and linen table cloths. This year they have assembled the finest collection of food sponsors to complement the wines and further please the palate.  Food samplings will be provided by…

Francesca’s Famiglia * Heinen’s Fine Foods * Wild Asparagus Catering * McGonigal’s Pub * Rosati’s Pizzeria * On Occasion Catering * Kookers Catering * Starbuck’s and more!

This year’s culinary sponsors will also have various food items for sale. And if you don’t care for wine, water, coffee and soft drinks will also be available for purchase.

A special entrance will be set up at Uncork Barrington for VIP ticket holders, who will have access to the full Uncork pavilion, but also be treated to an extra special selection of top tier wines to taste and food items only available in the VIP tent.  VIP ticket holders will also receive a special wine goblet and an Uncork Barrington hat for your collection.

Also – back by popular demand – the BK READ & the Really Big Deal Blues Band will perform at this year’s Uncork.  Known for their R&B and deep soulful blues, lead guitarist and vocalist Brian “BK” Read  says their sets will include rock, country, reggae, a lot of blues and a lot of danceable music.  “We like music that has a really good groove that you can tap your foot and get up and dance to.”
