A recent trip to the Arboretum of South Barrington sparked a new holiday tradition for our family. With the Arboretum’s ice skating rink and the chance to visit with Santa all season long plus great restaurants, shops and more, we didn’t have to travel far for an experience our girls will never forget!
A highlight of every holiday season for our girls is visiting with Santa. For the first time ever, The Arboretum of South Barrington is hosting Santa visits all season long! There were no lines and it was refreshing to not feel like we we had to rush through our visit to make way for other families. That means the girls’ time with St. Nick was more meaningful and memorable and we now have this year’s Santa visit checked off our list!

But the fun didn’t end with Santa. We especially loved skating together as a family at The Arb on Ice skating rink. My favorite memory is seeing my daughters’ eyes light up as they developed a new-found confidence on the ice!
Arboretum on Ice is BACK for it’s 3rd season through January 15th, 2018. Located on the plaza between Georgio’s Chicago Pizzeria and MAGO Grill & Cantina, the 7,200 square foot real ice skating rink offers regular skating hours plus private lessons. After ice skating, we warmed up and shared special treats and hot chocolate at Anna Shea Chocolates and Lounge. Thank you, Arboretum of South Barrington, for hosting holiday experiences that become some of our most cherished family memories. Shopping, dining, movies and more coupled with skating, Santa and so many holiday events & promotions – we’re thrilled to have this beautiful destination right here in our community. What a great way to celebrate the holidays so close to home!
