Since 1992, Barrington’s Egg Harbor Café has been a heart-of-town hotspot for families, friends and colleagues. We gather there for great coffee, high quality food and creative daily specials. We come for the fast, friendly service and relaxed, farmhouse vibe. But, after 26 years of enjoying breakfast and lunch at Egg Harbor Café, it’s the familiar faces, consistency and community spirit that make us feel most at home.
That’s why we’re excited to introduce a new series where we invite local contributors to share their favorite things about being Together at Egg Harbor Café. We’re starting this week with mother-of-two (soon to be three 👶) and 365Barrington social media manager, Kate Smith who recently brought her family to celebrate a great summer with a back to school breakfast.
Back to School Breakfast – Together at Egg Harbor Café

All year long, our family looks forward to walking in downtown Barrington on the weekends to our favorite breakfast place at Egg Harbor Café. From the moment we walk in, we’re met with exceptionally warm service, soothing café aromas and a sense of community as we catch up friends and neighbors at nearby tables.
My husband and I order coffee and my daughters love ordering a special juice, this time the strawberry orange juice. We always clink our full glasses together and say “Cheers!” to start off the morning and the conversation. With the new school year beginning, our girls had much to share. Excited about seeing friends again, nervous about making new ones, while we wait for our food I smile as our daughters tell us the sweetest stories around the table—my favorite part.
Being together at Egg Harbor Café is always a joyful experience because of the delicious, fresh food and the wonderful, welcoming service. It’s easy to see that everyone on the staff truly loves what they do and we love filling up on great food and family time again and again and again.
