If you’re in the mood for a little Irish fare as your kids visit with Santa, Clarke’s Bakery and Deli in Barrington has you covered. Apparently, Santa and Clarke’s owner, Matthew Clarke, go way back. The Clarkes have been hosting Santa at Christmas time since they opened for business in Barrington 26 years ago. Here’s a photo I found of the two jolly chums on Clarke’s Facebook page…
St. Nick will be visiting the popular Irish deli and bakery in Barrington during lunch from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. this Saturday, December 15th. They say you’re welcome to drop by for a visit with Santa and a bite to eat, if you’re hungry. Santa will be sitting by the Clarke’s giant gingerbread house, a family project they take on every year just for Santa’s visit. Taking photos with Santa by the gingerbread house is a longstanding tradition for families in Barrington.
Clarke’s also is offering some special homemade cookie platters and chocolates and candies brought back from Ireland for the holidays. And, of course, their deli sandwiches and baked goods are always a big hit.
