We have exciting news from Language Stars, one of our Barrington Online Marketplace members here at 365Barington.com! Now that our kids are back in school, it’s a great time to round out their schedules with an extra-curricular activity or two and Language Stars in Barrington is offering a brand new program aimed at successfully developing language skills to last a lifetime.
Language Stars’ new program is called Language Scholars and it’s designed for children between ages 3 and 8-years-old. The academic year starts September 3rd and includes 36 weeks of classes. Students enrolled in the program will receive six hours of language instruction per week and a 40% discount on their tuition.
Brittany Gignac is Language Stars’ Director here in Barrington.
She says their goal of the new Language Scholars program is to create more scheduling options with greater flexibility to fit families’ needs and offer more hours of student exposure to language for faster paced learning.
“The younger the kids are, the easier it is for them to learn language. Our Language Scholars program is designed to accelerate children’s language development by complimenting their existing school schedule with language.”
Language Stars families already enrolled are raving about the new Language Scholars curriculum…
“I have two kids who are both taking 4 classes each week. They are learning Spanish, French, and Mandarin. They LOVE LOVE LOVE it!! They sing the songs and speak at home int he languages. They hold Mandarin (or Spanish or French) classes in our playroom almost daily. Thanks to Language Stars, my kids have a tremendous interest in languages. This interest is also expanded to geography and learning cultures. I really couldn’t say enough wonderful things about this program.”
– Randy Neppl, Language Stars parent
“Our son Chase was enrolled in 5 languages at Language Stars. Starting with French at 18 months, Chase wanted to add Italian at age 3, German and Spanish at age 5 and Mandarin Chinese at age 6. He ended up taking 4-5 classes each week…all becuase he said that Language Stars classes didn’t feel like classes at all. We wanted Chase to be bilingual, something we would never be able to do on our own. Instead, he is now multilingual and, as a 7th grader, continues to excel in language at school.”
– Charlie and Cathryn Taylor – Language Stars parents
There are ten language instructors at Language Stars in Barrington teaching one to ten-year-old students five languages, including Spanish, French, Mandarin, German and Italian.
Language Stars’ mission is to foster a new generation of multi-lingual Americans and Brittany says their program gives students an edge in school and beyond. “Our kids are going to be growing up in a more global community and to be able to communicate with others outside of our country is going to be a huge advantage when they enter the work world.”
Brittany also says they focus on teaching foreign languages the same way people learn their first language. “Our classes are taught in the language 100% of the class time. It’s 100% play-based which is a concept we call fun-immersion since they’re 100% fun and 100% immersed in the language.”
