What do you wear when the BHS Broncos meet Palatine High School in the final home game of their undefeated football season at 7:30 TONIGHT? Why a Senior Night BLACKOUT T-shirt, of course!
Volunteers will be selling the long-sleeved shirts for $10 at tonight’s game, which starts at 7:30, and proceeds will help student-led Go Beyond Barrington empower communities in need. Go Beyond Barrington’s outreach initiatives include previous trips to help tornado victims in Washington, IL and Joplin, MO.
Go Beyond Barrington volunteer Tommy Derken, who is also one of our lead 365BarringtonTV reporters, says the group’s Senior Blackout Night T-shirt sales will support the organization’s big plans for future projects.
“Go Beyond Barrington is sponsoring the blackout game and we have been selling long sleeve tees and pizza in an effort to raise funds.
All funds are going to our two beneficiaries this year, Boys and Girls Club of Elgin and Pathfinders of Milwaukee, both of whom we’ve been working for throughout the year so far. We have about 20 total members and 20 non-members and are a registered 501C3 organization.
We hope to raise $10,000 this year, all of which will be used in different ways to help out beneficiaries whether by supplying them with necessities or funding one of their projects. This spring break we plan on going up to Milwaukee and spending some time and working with Pathfinders closely as well as the Boys and Girls Club.”
