Tickets are on sale now for the 12th annual Uncork Barrington wine and food festival coming up from 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, July 8th. The annual event gets bigger and better every year and the sommeliers at Vin are planning an exciting menu of wines for the 2016 tasting. There will also be delicious food available for all ticket holders from about a dozen featured restaurants and caterers. Because Uncork Barrington is all about celebrating the love of wine, we’re giving away three pairs of tickets (including two VIP tickets) to THREE WINNERS in this year’s first ever #UncorkBarrington Photo Contest!
To enter, all you have to do is share a photo of one of your favorite wines to uncork at home or out on the town. All who submit images on social media with hashtag #UncorkBarrington or via the form below will be entered into the contest for a chance to win.* You have through Tuesday, July 5th, to submit your photos. We will randomly select and announce all three winners on Wednesday, July 6th, just in time for the event on Friday, July 8th!
General Admission and VIP tickets with exclusive top-shelf tastings may be purchased NOW online, at the gate while supplies last or at these fine local retailers: VIN (311 East Main Street) or Heinen’s Grocery (500 N. Hough Street).
Uncork Barrington will again take place in the north parking lot of the Barrington Metra train station — the traditional site of the community’s Fourth of July festivities. The BK Blues Band will again be performing, back by popular demand. At the entry you’ll receive a passport to sample 50 fine wines along with tantalizing food from local restaurants as the summer sun sets on downtown Barrington.
This year’s menu will feature 50 wines in theses 12 categories:
Patio Pounders * Spanish Sizzlers * Killer Cabernets * When You Wish Upon a Chard * Summer Sippers * Old World Wonders * Wine for Entertaining * Great for Grilling * Smooth Blends * Big Juicy Reds * Fantastic Food Pairings * Napa Valley Knockouts
This year’s participating food vendors include:
On Occasion Catering & Events * Incontro a Tavola Ristorante Italiano * Heinen’s Grocery * Francesca’s Restaurants * McGonigal’s Pub * Wild Asparagus * Kooker’s * Alley 59 * Big Iron Horse BBQ
Launched in 2005 by the Barrington Village Association or “BVA,” Uncork Barrington has become ever more successful with each year. Thanks to the hard work of many volunteers and to Uncork Barrington’s patrons, the BVA has been able to make donations to the Career Place, Barrington Area Council on Aging, the Leona Bataille Scholarship Foundation, Barrington Youth Dance Ensemble, Barrington Fine Arts Boosters, Barrington Area United Way, Barrington Breakfast Rotary, District 220 Educational Foundation…and many more.
