Village Board Coffee & Conversation

All are welcome to meet and get to know the Village of Barrington board during special events on two upcoming Saturdays. Come to learn more from our elected officials about current Village projects, ask questions and hear about the issues that matter most to you!

Both “Coffee & Conversation with the Village Board” events are coming up on Saturday October 15 and Saturday, November 12 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Barrington’s Village Hall, 200 S. Hough Street.

Our current Village Board includes:

Karen Darch
First elected President in 2005¸ then re-elected in 2009 and 2013, is the Village President. Karen, an attorney, began her service as a Village Trustee in 1995. A mother of six, Karen is involved in a wide range of activities, from serving as co-chair of TRAC (The Regional Answer to Canadian National) to serving as past President of the Northwest Municipal Conference. She is also the former Chairperson of BACOG (Barrington Area Council of Governments) and the Metropolitan Mayors Caucus, which is composed of the municipalities in the greater Chicagoland area, including the City of Chicago. She has devoted her life to a wide range of civic and charitable activities including serving in the Barrington Junior Women’s Club, St. Anne’s PTO, the Healthier Communities Steering Committee, and the Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital Development Council. Karen and her husband, Doug, have lived in the Village for over 30 years.

Jim Daluga
Trustee Jim Daluga and his wife Nancy have been Barrington residents for 25 years. They have three children, Jim, Molly and Mimi. Jim has served on the Village Board since 2003. He is currently the chairperson of the Village’s Administration and Finance Committee as well as a member of the Finance Committee of BACOG. Besides his work on the Village Board, Jim serves as a lector for St. Anne Catholic Church. Jim is the Vice President of Quality Assurance for QMI Security Solutions located in Itasca, IL.

Tim Roberts
Trustee Tim Roberts is president of Catalyst Exhibits, Inc. located in Pleasant Prairie, WI with offices in Amsterdam and Shanghai. Catalyst employs over eighty marketing professionals serving clients worldwide with their tradeshow marketing needs. Tim and his wife, Lori, have lived in Barrington for 19 years, along with their daughter Chloe. Tim has served on the Village Board and the Barrington Area United Way since 2005.

Jason Lohmeyer
Trustee Jason Lohmeyer and his family moved to Jewel Park in 2008. He and his wife, Corryn, have been married since 1996. Their daughter, Kendall, attends North Barrington Elementary in the Chinese Immersion program. Jason has volunteered at JourneyCare Hospice and was involved in other community organizations, prior to living in Barrington. Jason currently works at CVS Health in the Specialty department, driving various strategic initiatives. Since 2001, he has held various roles there, including Director of Finance for a $10+ billion division. Jason earned his BS in Business (Accounting & Business Administration) from the University of Kansas, and his MBA from DePaul University with a concentration in Finance. He is a non-practicing CPA, passing it his first attempt. Jason has served as a Member of the Barrington Firefighters’ Pension Board for six years, helping oversee the pension fund and evaluating disability applications. Jason, elected in 2015, is currently serving his first term on the Board of Trustees.

Todd Sholeen
Trustee Todd Sholeen and his family have lived in the Village of Barrington since 1992. He and his wife Heather have two children, Philip and Bonnie, who are both graduates of Barrington CUSD 220. Todd grew up in South Suburban Glenwood, IL where he attended the Homewood Schools and is a graduate of Homewood-Flossmoor High School. He attended Principia College and received a bachelor’s degree in English and he also graduated from DePaul University after earning his Masters degree in Accounting. From 1986 to 1990, Todd served as Treasurer for the Village of Glenwood before moving to the Northwest Suburbs. Todd currently works for FirstMerit Bank in its Government Banking Group. He is a member of the Illinois Government Finance Officers Association (IGFOA) where he is serving on the Partners’ Forum. Todd is also a member of the Illinois Association of School Business Officials (IASBO) and is currently serving on the Cash Management Debt Service Committee. Todd also enjoys volunteering with Citizens for Conservation and other local non-profit organizations in the Barrington area.

Sue Padula
Trustee Sue Padula has lived in Barrington with her husband, Rich, and their 3 daughters since 1994. Sue is a graduate of Northwestern University with a BA in Political Science and has a JD from John Marshall Law School. Professionally she served as corporate legal counsel for Syclo, LLC for 17 years and also has experience practicing in the area of Federal Criminal Defense and before the Illinois Commerce Commission addressing utility based consumer advocacy issues. Sue has been involved in a number of local community organizations including Barrington Area Development Council, Barrington Junior Women’s Club, and Wellness Place. She has also been involved in the 220 School District serving on the PTO Boards of Lines Elementary, Station Middle School and Barrington High School and she is currently chair of the PTO Presidents Council. Sue was first elected in 2013.

Pete Douglas
Trustee Pete Douglas and his family have lived in Barrington since 2004. Pete and his wife Stephanie have two boys – Charlie attends DePauw University and Drew attends BHS. Professionally, Pete is the President of Innovation Auto, North America. He graduated from DePauw University with a major in Political Science and was first elected to the Village Board in 2013.

Adam Frazier
Village Clerk Adam Frazier and his wife Kristin (Barrington native) and two children have lived in Barrington since 2007. Adam has been serving as Village Clerk since 2009. The Village Clerk is responsible for taking minutes of all Village Board and Committee of the Whole meetings, along with other municipal clerk duties.
