The Barrington Junior Women’s Club is celebrating the successful conclusion of a series of special events marking the organization’s 80th anniversary of service and philanthropy in Barrington. Now in their ninth decade of supporting community needs, the group’s sold-out “Diamonds & Pearls” fall fashion show was a smashing success!

The BJWC hosted their annual Fall Event & Fashion Show on Saturday, November 12,  at the Stonegate Conference & Banquet Centre in Hoffman Estates. This year’s theme, ‘Diamonds & Pearls: A Rock Tribute to Fashion’, brought a modern and hip vibe to the event. Over 425 women attended the sold-out event and rock star high fashion was in full view as guests dressed the part in leather, pearls, diamonds, and fur.

The event began with shopping with over 20 boutiques participating which featured jewelry, holiday decorations, clothing, and accessories. Alongside the boutiques was the silent auction,  conducted on-line for the first time. Silent Auction items paid tribute to the event theme with a DJ party package, high fashion jewelry and a Cynthia Rowley Boutique (Chicago) Shopping Experience.

During lunch, Auctioneer Bob Roig kicked off the raffles and live auction, which included a  Hamilton musical package, which included tickets, dinner for two, and an overnight stay!  Neiman Marcus headlined the fashion show and showed innovative styles on the runway with designs from Cenzina Originals, Karen Millen, and LK Bennett. A one of kind ‘rock style look’ was also featured on the runway from Barrington area stores — Grassroots, Heads Up Boutique, House of Betty Jane, Luxe Warehouse, Notice, Savvy Spirit, and York Furrier all presented ensembles that are available in their stores now.

The Fall Fashion Show and Luncheon is BJWC’s signature event each year. BJWC allocates the funds raised from the event to local charities in the greater Barrington Area. Additionally, BJWC provides merit-based scholarships to Barrington High School seniors, which recognize students for their leadership efforts, local volunteer hours, and academics.

“BJWC’s mission for the last eighty years is to support those in need through philanthropy and community service, so our primary focus is to help local charitable organizations as well as honor students who also have the same desire & goals.” remarked Suzy Mogler, 2016 Philanthropy Co-Chair.

The Barrington Junior Women’s Club is open to women of all ages. The group’s mission is to enhance the community by providing philanthropy and community service in the spirit of camaraderie through volunteerism. Don’t miss the Barrington Junior Womens Club spring event, a ‘Casino Royale’ themed evening, on Saturday, March 4th at Biltmore Country Club.
