Hey Hey, what do you say… today is National Margarita Day! We’re celebrating this February 22nd holiday at The Arboretum of South Barrington’s Mago Grill & Cantina where they’re serving up $7 Herradura margaritas all day long.

The word margarita means “daisy” in Spanish. Cocktail historians say margaritas became popular in the 1920’s during prohibition as people drifted over the border for alcohol. They also say margaritas are a spin on the Brandy Daisy, remade with tequila.

Margarita Day was founded by NationalMargaritaDay.com to celebrate margaritas, friendship, good times and memories of somewhere warmer than it is in Barrington during the month of February. I’ll toast to that!

A celebration of Mexico’s heritage, Mago Grill & Cantina‘s original Latin and Mexican menu features authentic favorites like freshly smashed table-side guacamole, seafood ceviches, savory salsas, fresh salads. Mago’s main dishes feature steak, chicken, pork and seafood plus all the classics: suiza-style Burritos, Enchiladas, Tacos and Fajita’s including a unique Mago-style creation served in a hot molcajete.
