Chinese Club is thrilled to announce our third word of the day... 鸡蛋糕! (jī dàn gāo) Egg cake! -- A delicious traditional treat that reminds our sponsor of her childhood!
Importantly, Barrington High School's Chinese Club is having our first meeting of the (Western) New Year! We'll be on Google Meet chatting, laughing, and baking our own versions of egg cake in our respective kitchens. Expect photos soon!
If you or someone you know is curious about the Chinese culture, traditions, and language, make sure to reach out to firstname.lastname@example.org to get the link to join us at 4:30 today! 😊
For my 💯 post I decided to highlight favorite part of our remodel! THE ISLAND!
Originally it was supposed to be shorter and wider, with overhang on the side that you are looking at. You would be facing the hallway when seated.
During the remodel I flipped things a bit and decided to make the island longer, narrower and added the seating at the end of the island - you can sit on both sides.
Why is it awesome and it works for us?
• we can all eat as a family and face each other
• kiddos can watch TV when snacking at the island
• I can sit down when prepping food
• having the seating at the end allows us to have 8ft of workable island space on both sides and it’s FN brilliant 🙌🏻
So I did good 💪🏻so good!
Have I mentioned that besides being a great designer I’m also humble 🤣😂
Also let’s take a moment and appreciate the light! Obsessed!
Outlet wall plates are still missing, and so are the jeldwenusa door handles!
Here is the material info📌
