Barrington Village Clerk Tony Cignek and Trustees Todd Sholeen, Jennifer Wondrasek, and Mike Moran announced they are running for reelection in April’s Consolidated Election along with Village President Karen Darch under the “Barrington Forward” banner. Together, they plan to guide the Village through unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic and continue Barrington’s positive momentum. The team also has a focus on ensuring that the village continues to invest in infrastructure while working to protect the environment.
Candidates Ciganek, Sholeen, Wondrasek, and Moran released a joint statement: “Each of the members of our Barrington Forward team is honored to serve our hometown. We proudly volunteer to give back to our special community. We work together respectfully to do what’s best for Barrington without personal agendas. And we bring a unique mix of experience and fresh ideas to ensure we’re always moving Barrington forward. Together, we will continue to move Barrington forward.”
Barrington Village President Karen Darch said, “I am proud to run with our Barrington Forward team. We provide strong, steady, and proven leadership to help guide our village through this uncertain time. We’re working proactively to support community efforts, help our local businesses survive, and maintain the village’s fiscal stability by remaining fiscally responsible. Meanwhile, we’re keeping an eye on the future. Barrington was thriving before this pandemic, and the Barrington Forward team will ensure we continue this positive momentum.”

Tony Ciganek has lived in Barrington for 35 years and has served as Village Clerk since 2017. Todd Sholeen has lived in Barrington since 1992 and has served as a Village Trustee since 2015. Jennifer Wondrasek has lived in the Barrington area for more than 30 years and has served as a Village Trustee since 2017. And Mike Moran has been a Barrington resident for the last 15 years and was appointed as a Village Trustee in 2019.
