As we get into the full swing of summer, Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC) has opportunities to volunteer outside this summer and a few of them are event related.

Barrington Hills 5 & 10 K Run/Walk on June 29th!

Volunteer and help make the ‘Land We Love Run‘ a huge success! The race raises funds for Folds of Honor to provide educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled Military and First Responders. (Donations for Cuba Township also will be accepted that day.)

All volunteers welcome and this is a family friendly & wheelchair accessbile event. Help to setup as early as 6:00 AM and clean-up starting at 9:30 AM.

Barrington Lions Club – Annual Brat Tent (July 1st – July 6th)

The Lions Club is celebrating 100 Years of Service! Join in the tradition to work the Brat Tent from July 1st – 6th at the Metra Lot by Wool Street. There are multiple shifts available that cover both day and evening. This is a fun community event and a great way to join in during the July 4th holiday festivities.

BACOG Photographer Needed !

Barrington Area Council of Governments (BACOG) would love help from a local photographer or resident with a camera phone to help us capture images that show off the amazing Barrington region.

Specifically, photographs of resources across the Barrington area, including:
village halls and township offices, bike paths (both on and off road), equestrian and walking trails, crosswalks and local parks and county nature preserves are needed.
This is a great way to show your photography skills while getting outside to enjoy our beautiful community!

(The volunteer must own the rights to the photographs and grant permission for them to be used in BACOG publications, and on its website, social media platforms, and other public forums.)

If you are looking to volunteer this summer, Barrington Area Volunteer Connection (BAVC) is the best local resource if you want to volunteer in the Barrington Area. BAVC’s free & easy platform helps connect over 100 local nonprofits with volunteers in our area!
