The 10th annual Scarecrow Festival is coming up this weekend in downtown Barrington and the Village is planning a cornucopia of fun for the entire family.
The festival will take place this Satruday, October 16th, from 11AM until 2PM in Memorial Park. That’s the park on South Hough Street right across from Hough Street School.
There’ll be scarecrow decorating, pumpkin painting, cookie decorating, a moonwalk and giant slide, children’s games and pony rides. Hot dogs, brats, chips and drinks will all be available for purchase, thanks to the Barrington Breakfast Rotary. Kaleidoscoops will be offering a great assortment of ice cream, too. Bob the DJ will be on hand spinning some festive tunes and Goebberts is supplying 500 pumpkins for the event.
Barrington’s scarecrow festival is free and flyers were distributed to students at all of Barrington’s elementary schools so they’re expecting a great turnout. Memorial Park is on Hough Street (Route 59) just south of Main Street (Lake Cook Road). For more information, visit the Village of Barrington website at Barrington-il.gov.
