The Barrington Area Council on Aging (BACOA) is hosting a luncheon to celebrate the “F” word next week. I’m serious. This is not a joke. WAIT! No…It’s not THAT “F” word. Though that would be a pretty colorful luncheon, now wouldn’t it? The “F” words they’re celebrating are these: “Festive Food for Family & Friends.” And the featured guest is a superstar pastry chef, cookbook author, TV personality and famous Chicago restauranteur. How Fabulous!
Gale Gand is known nationally for her superior pastry skills. She’s the executive pastry chef and partner of Chicago’s 4-star Tru Restaurant. She hosted the first all-dessert show on the Food Network. She’s appeared on Oprah, Martha Stewart, Iron Chef America and The Today Show, just to name a few. She’s a mom, an author AND a rootbeer maker. And you can meet her next THURSDAY, November 4th, at BACOA’s luncheon which starts at 11AM. It’s happening at Makray Memorial Golf Club at 1010 S. Northwest Highway. Gale will discuss the joys of baking for others, some of the famous people she’s cooked with and some of her most memorable cooking for special occasions. Perfect timing with Thanksgiving and Christmas right around the corner. You can read more about her at GaleGand.com.
But please note, TODAY IS THE DEADLINE TO PURCHASE TICKETS for this event. If you want to attend BACOA’s “Celebrating the ‘F’ Words” luncheon, the cost is $40 and you can purchase tickets by clicking HERE. To learn more about the Barrington Area Council on Aging, visit their website at BACOA.org.
