Looking for something to do for dinner TONIGHT? Forget fancy! Grab your faded Levis and get ready for some spicy flavor and laid back fun. That’s what you’ll find at the 2012 Chili and Music Fest going on tonight at the Onion Pub & Brewery in Lake Barrington.
There’s a great posse of spicy personalities planning to party tonight with some sizzling chili and the sounds of the local classic rock band, Hudson McCoy. According to the band’s website, you’ll hear “Your Classic Rock and R & B favorites performed by musicians who were there.” And with a motto like, “We know we were there, but it’s a little fuzzy”, you know the show’s going to be hot!
The event is planned by the School District 220 Educational Foundation. Money raised will support programs throughout Barrington schools that “enhance learning but are not otherwise supported by tax revenues.” The District 220 Foundation has raised well over 1-Million dollars over the past 12 years for a whole range of initiatives, from buying the equipment for the BHS-TV department to building new playgrounds to bringing a brand new Engineering Curriculum, equipment and learning tools to Barrington High School.
The fun starts at 7 p.m. tonight at the Onion Pub, 22221 Pepper Road in Lake Barrington. Tickets can be purchased at the door for $75.00 per person, which includes all the chili fixin’s and cornbread you can eat. Plus, a cash bar will also be available. And they have a great list of live auction items available for fantastic adventures that’ll help you leave your city life behind and live like a cowboy!
How’d you like horseback riding in the foothills of the Big Horn Mountains during a five night stay at a ranch in Saddlestring, Wyoming? Or, maybe you’d rather have a chuckwagon pull up to your own front door chock full of finger lickin’ food for 10 to 12 cowboys served around your family campfire? For those of you who prefer the urban cowboy scene, another auction item is a two-night stay in a suite at Chicago’s Trump International Hotel and Tower.
So Giddyap, grab your pardner and head on down to the 5th annual Chili & Music Fest TONIGHT, Saturday, March 10, at 7 p.m.
