There’s a great list of things to do in Barrington in the coming days, starting with the highly anticipated, 26th annual Grove Avenue Elementary School Carnival which begins tonight and runs through Sunday!

The Grove School fundraiser is an old-fashioned carnival on the school property, with rides, games, live music, cotton candy and lots of other food. Here are more details about the Carnival and several other fun events happening throughout the Barrington area..

Grove School Carnival

The Grove Ave Carnival is the school’s largest fundraiser of the year and is possible due to the help of hundreds of parent volunteers who take part.

You’ll find traditional carnival rides, games and food.  Plus a Cutest Dog Contest on Saturday, Cake Walks, Bingo and Live Bands throughout the weekend.

Carnival hours are 5 to 10 p.m. tonight, Friday, September 14th, from noon to 10 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, September 15th and from noon to 5 p.m. Sunday, September 16th.  CLICK HERE for more details.

Harvest Time Harmonies Free Library Concert

Vocalist and guitar player Pat Gaughan is well-known on the folk circuit for her intricate playing and rich singing voice. Add multi-talented instrumentalist L.J. Slavin to the mix and you’ve got the perfect evening of warm, authentic folk tunes, just right as we ease into the autumn season.

They’re performing together in a free concert, starting at 8 p.m. tonight, Friday, September 14th.  The concert is free but please register at balibrary.org or call the library at 847-382-1300 to guarantee a seat. Tonight’s concert is part of the library’s Second Fridays concert series, a Barrington tradition for 18 years.
