Welcome to the first Tuesday in October! Have you picked pumpkins or put out your scarecrow yet? There’s so much happening in Barrington this month so we have lots to choose from for our weekly 10 on Tuesday list of upcoming events and fun things to do in Barrington.
We picked a scarecrow theme for this week’s 10 on Tuesday list because, as you’ve probably noticed by now, the scarecrows are back at businesses in Barrington, decorating storefronts all over town. It’s the Village of Barrington’s annual Scarecrow Contest and the voting is underway now. I’ve spotted a few scarecrows with election themes so far this year encouraging us to get out and vote along with another promoting Bob Lee’s Ride for 3 Reasons and a tribute to Whitney Houston.
The scarecrow contest and voting will end on Halloween, which is Monday, October 31st. Winners will be announced on the Village website on Tuesday, November 1st. Casting your vote is easy to do online at Barrington-Il.gov. But before you cast your vote, be sure to check out this week’s top 10 list of upcoming things to do in Barrington starting with a cool event happening in South Barrington tonight……
