We received hundreds of votes and have winners to announce today from the snow photo contest we kicked off last Friday.

Photographer, Seija Tierney took the top spot, receiving 48% of the votes cast for her photo called “Spring Creek Snow”.

Congratulations, Seija! Your prize is a $50 gift certificate to spend at the dine-in iPic Theater in South Barrington.
Did you know iPic gets at least one new movie every week? They have eight theaters and, this week, they have three new movies playing, Safe Haven (a love story), Escape from Planet Earth (a family-friendly kids’ cartoon) and Beautiful Creatures (a “supernatural romance”). The manager there is a big movie buff and says Safe Haven is one of their most popular movies this week along with Identity Thief (a comedy, starring Justin Bateman and Melissa McCarthy from Bridesmaids).
The second place winner in our contest, receiving 40% of the votes cast, is Tracy Mylin with the photo she took of her son at Ron Beese Park called “My First Snowball”.

Tracy wins a $25 gift card to spend at any of the stores or restaurants at The Arboretum of South Barrington.
Did you know there are three new businesses opening soon at The Arboretum? In the coming months, lingerie store, Soma Intimates, will open near the DSW shoe store. Mago Grill and Cantina, a new Mexican restaurant, will be opening near L.L. Bean. And this summer, Home Goods will be opening in the space where Midwest Elite Gymnastics Academy used to be. The M.E.G.A. recently moved to another nearby location down the street in Elgin. You’ll find The Arboretum of South Barrington at 100 S. Higgins Road and you’ll find their website at ShopTheArb.com.
Our third place prize goes to Pamela Cools for the photo she took in Barrington Hills called “Wintry Garden Path”.

Pamela will receive a FREE large, one-topping pizza from Georgio’s Chicago Pizzeria & Pub, also at The Arboretum of South Barrington. Georgio’s brings the taste and feel of Chicago to the suburbs with its award winning Chicago style deep dish pizza, Crispy thin crust pizza, and an atmosphere reminiscent of historic downtown Chicago. OK, now I’m hungry!
Congratulations to our three winners and thank you to all of you who participated in our contest. Thank you also to The Arboretum, iPic and Georgio’s for offering such great prizes for our winners.
Stay tuned for our next photo submission contest. It’ll be our annual “Spring Break” photo contest and it’s right around the corner. Ahhhh…sunshine…I can feel it now :). Happy Friday everybody!
