If you are looking for something to do in Barrington almost any night, you don’t have to look further than L’Eiffel Bistrot & Creperie at The Arboretum of South Barrington. This picturesque, parisian-inspired destination welcomes you with an eclectic array of events at all times of the year.
Aiming to please a well-rounded customer base, L’Eiffel Bistrot offers weekly events like Half-Price Wine Mondays, $6/glass Ladies Night Wednesdays, Wine Tasting Thursdays for just $10/person or free to Wine Club members, and live music Fridays and Saturdays.
They also host special events and private parties year-round.
Owner Frank Ferru opened L’Eiffel Bistrot, his second restaurant, with events in mind. Expanding on the success of Le Petit Creperie in Woodstock, Ferru wanted his second location to facilitate a crowd, and when the Arboretum was looking for an anchor, Voila! It was the perfect match.
Frank had the bar area hand-crafted to resemble a traditional French Absinthe bar.
He uses the two outdoor patios and large dining rooms to their full extent of hosting possibilities.
We asked Frank what he enjoys most about his restaurant, and he replied “I love food, I love wine, and that’s a great combination. It’s my life.” And it shows. When you enter the Bistrot he is ready to bring you on a fun-and flavor-filled experience. Expect to be greeted by his friendly face any time you pop in, and if you have an idea, or question, he wants to hear it. He is happy to talk food and wine with you, make recommendations, illuminate you on the magic of absinthe or talk about his upbringing in France.
L’Eiffel Bistrot also has a premier wine club that enjoys many of its own special events. The $35 per month membership includes a bottle of wine, wine tasting Thursdays (worth the price alone) as well as discounts on the wine dinners, special club tastings and other incentives.
Throughout the year there are special event dinners based on creative collaboration between Frank and head chef, Pepe Castillo.
“Pepe and I are both connoisseurs of food and wine, and we’ll choose based on something that inspires us, such as a special way to prepare lamb, or a certain region of wines.”
In September there was a Wild Game dinner that showcased such unique meats as Kangaroo and Alligator. “We don’t aim to make money on our wine dinners, but rather to give people a great night at a great price. For $50 per person, a 4-course dinner with four wines is much cheaper than ordering a la carte.”
If this makes you want to be part of the fête, in the next few weeks there are some spectacular events that would be the perfect time to give L’Eiffel Bistrot a try.
