I just talked with the paper’s editor Dan McCaleb and reporter Tarah Thorne. As they do every week they shared a snapshot of the stories we’ll find this week in Barrington Suburban Life

Bird’s eye view

Barrington Suburban Life contributor Jeff Krage gets up close and personal with several birds of prey residing at the Stillman Nature Center of South Barrington.  This week’s stellar photo spread is full of wide-eyed owls, hawks and falcons who made an appearance for the Center’s Raptor Sunday.

Barrington students pay it forward

The BHS “IT” Campaign raises thousands of dollars for a local charity of choice every year – but this year might take the cake.  Associate Principal Paul Gillette told Barrington Suburban Life reporter Tarah Thorne about some special phone calls he’s making to prepare for the school’s weeklong spring fundraiser.  Gillette is looking into mechanical bulls and rodeo-themed fun.  Will this year draw more students than ever?  Barrington Suburban Life has all the details.

Deck the halls, donate the old

Holiday season is upon us and Lake Barrington’s local Treetime business has announced a special partnership with Goodwill for tree donation incentives where tree givers receive 15 percent off a new tree.  Barrington Suburban Life contributor Stephanie Kohl took a peek into Treetime to learn more about the program’s success.  Could Goodwill already be running out of Treetime discount coupons?

Pepper Park to boost Lake Barrington retail

Lake Barrington’s most recent groundbreaking is set to bring 14,900 square feet of retail opportunity to the Pepper Road area near the Lake Barrington Field House.  KVM developers hope to increase traffic in the area and encourage residents to shop locally.  Barrington Suburban Life found out just what types of stores are expected to open in Pepper Park next year.

You’ll find these stories and much more in this week’s paper!

Barrington Suburban Life is owned by Shaw Media and mailed weekly to homes and businesses in zip code 60010. Watch for next week’s issue in the mail on Thursday.
