ChristKindlFest is almost here! Crews spent today setting up for the second annual 4-day event in BMO Harris Bank’s downtown Barrington parking lot at Cook & Station Streets. They transported the wooden retail huts from Pepper Construction overnight and they’ve erected the giant heated tent which will house the entertainment stage, seating and food vendors.
And that brings us to #7 on our list of 12 reasons not to miss ChristKindlFest, 2014, which is the fact that Western Sky Band is performing live on Friday night!
ChristKindlFest’s opening day is this Thursday, December 4th, and the fest runs through Sunday. Western Sky Band is the main attraction on stage in the heated ChristKindlFest tent on Friday night. They’re scheduled to perform from 8:30 to 11 p.m. and, thanks to support from the fest’s generous sponsors, the cover charge to see the show is only $10.

According to Western Sky Band’s Facebook page, they have “big surprises” in store for Friday night’s concert where they’re expected to play a country version of some familiar Christmas songs.
The band will be adding festive holiday flair to their popular Country show which will include a great lineup “Top 40″ Country hits as well as favorites from the likes of Miranda Lambert, Eric Church, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum and Keith Urban.
Band leader and vocalist, Camille Eiseman, says they’re looking forward to performing at ChristKindlFest and getting the crowd up on their feet.
“We tend to have a large following with line dancers who enjoy the fact that we keep the music moving. People can come out and dance and I think that’s what they enjoy the most about our shows.”
Camille’s is a familiar face here in Barrington. You might recognize her from the years she spent working on staff as a singer, in youth ministry and as a worship leader at South Barrington’s Willow Creek Community Church. “I have been a country music fan since I was a little girl so to be able to perform the music that I listen to and my family loves is truly a blessing. It’s a gift.”
In addition to Western Sky Band’s regular music lineup, Camille says the band will be playing country version of some familiar Christmas songs during ChristKindlFest. And she’s particularly looking forward to being back in Barrington, among friends, for Friday’s show.
“Christmas is about coming together with the people you love and your neighbors and your community and I think country music lends itself to that really well. Country comes from a place of family and, like the holidays, the music we play is meant to be enjoyed together.”
Hosted by the Barrington Breakfast Rotary Club and the Barrington Village Association, ChristKindlFest runs from December 4th to 7th: Thursday 10 am to 11 pm, Friday and Saturday 10:00 am to midnight, and Sunday 10:00 am to 5:00 pm. The fest will feature shopping at 20 Germanic chalets, kiddie rides, visits with Santa & reindeer PLUS international food, drink and non-stop live music & dancing inside a massive heated tent.
