One of the best things about shopping at The Walking Company is their foot scan process. Their in-store scanner digitally analyzes your feet to help customize the best fit and maximize the benefits of The Walking Company’s line of ABEO BIOSystem footwear. Store Manager Dawn Jurkovic says their ABEO BIOsystem is truly the “future of footwear” because it blends advanced technology and built-in orthotics with classic shoe designs which are perfect, Dawn adds, if you’re heading out of town for Spring Break.

Dawn says, when it come to selecting shoes for travel, or any day of the year, custom fit can make a world of difference. “Because every person is different and their needs vary. People think a soft fit is better but support is really most important because more support leads to better balance. When your feet are balanced, so are your hips your legs, your back, everything.”

So here are Dawn’s FIVE SHOES to put a pep in your step this spring:

1. The Balboa Flip-Flop

The Walking Company’s Abeo BIOSystem Balboa Flip-Flop is the company’s number one selling sandal! Available in 21 colors, the Balboa features a built-in orthotic with three available footbeds matched to the customer’s foot type. It also has a Slip Resistant, non-skid rubber outsole. Dawn says the Balboa flip-flop is a great go-to shoe for the spring and summer seasons and I love all of the colors!

“A lot of people can not wear your standard flip-flops because most of them have no arch support. That’s not the case with the Balboa flip-flops which have arch support. They’re a simple slip-on that people can comfortably wear, even when walking long distances. You can walk in them, hike in them, wear them running errands, wear them around the house and even wear them to the pool or beach because they’re water resistant.”

2. The Dansko Lindy

The “Lindy” sandal is made by Dansko Footwear where they say “every pair of shoes is infused with legendary Dansko all-day comfort, support & a little ♥ too.” The Lindy is available in five colors and features full grain leather upper and a Dual Density EVA footbed with a slingback adjustable back closure. Here’s why Dawn says you will love the Lindy:

“Everybody loves Dansko. And the latest Dansko shoes are featuring a more tapered and more feminine look. The Lindy sandal is very comf0rtable and very nice looking and you could dress it up or dress it down so it’s a versatile sandal which is perfect for both spring break and the warmer months ahead.”

3. The Dansko Larissa

Dawn also highly recommends another Dansko sandal called “The Larissa“, which is available in six colors and features a full grain leather upper, Dual Density EVA footbed and adjustable top strap.

“Dansko is a line for support and the heel on this shoe actually helps,” Dawn says. “Some People think they can’t wear a heel because it will hurt their toes, but with the Dansko shoes, that heel provides balance and can help by taking pressure of both the toes and the heel while lifting your back.”

4. The Laguna Sandal

Another Abeo BIOSystem sandal available exclusively at The Walking Company, the Laguna comes in seven colors and features a built-in orthotic with three available footbeds matched to the customer’s foot type. The Laguna also has a Memory Foam insole with microsuede footbed and anti-microbial Aegis shield. Here’s why Dawn says the Laguna makes her list:

“The Laguna is a casual, walking, arch-supported sandal. It looks feminine enough to wear with a dress, but you can also wear them with jeans, a pair of shorts or capris and that’s why people love the Laguna sandal.”

5. ABEO LiTe Athletic Shoe

Last, but not least, Dawn added a super lightweight, minimalist athletic shoe to her list of “must-haves” for spring travel and warmer weather. Weighing only six ounces and created with Lightweight Technology, Dawn says the ABEO LiTE athletic shoe is designed to give you incredible comfort and freedom of motion.

“People love how lightweight these shoes are because heavy shoes can lead to tiredness in the legs. The ABEO LiTE is great for walking your dog, walking to the store, running errands or just wearing around the house. They’re also great for wearing to the airport and on the plane for all who plan to escape this Spring Break.”
